One of his key advocacies is Universal Health Care (UHC). As the principal author and sponsor of the Universal Health Care Act, he is committed to ensuring that all Filipinos have access to quality and affordable health services. He also authored the National Integrated Cancer Control Act, providing a comprehensive framework for cancer prevention, detection, treatment, and care.
Recognizing the need to bring quality healthcare, especially specialty services, closer to those outside Manila, he championed the passage of the Regional Specialty Center Law.
He continues to advocate for increased budget allocation for health services, closely monitoring the implementation of the UHC Law, and pushing for reforms to enhance the delivery of healthcare across the country.
