JV Ejercito pushes Ethics panel forward as rules set for publication after securing required signatures

Senate Committee on Ethics and Privileges Chairperson JV Ejercito on Thursday announced that the committee’s rules is set for publication which will allow the panel to proceed with its work.
"The Committee can soon discharge its functions, including the evaluation of complaints and conduct of hearings. We will proceed as soon as the Rules is published," said Ejercito.
Ejercito moved to complete the remaining requirements, including securing the signatures of committee members, to operationalize the panel and ensure that it can finally move forward.
He said the signatures were completed just on Wednesday afternoon.
Based on information from the Committee Secretariat, the rules will be published in a major newspaper by tomorrow, Friday.
The signatories were Senators JV Ejercito, Kiko Pangilinan, Erwin Tulfo, Risa Hontiveros, Ping Lacson, and Migz Zubiri.
“We have been awaiting the completion of the required six signatures since our last meeting in March, and we thank our colleagues for their support,” he said.
The lawmaker said the next meeting of the Committee will be held on April 28, where pending complaints will be reviewed for compliance with form and substance.
