JV Ejercito calls for new probe on PhilHealth

Senator Joseph Victor “JV” Ejercito on
Wednesday said he will ask the Senate Committee on Health and Demography to
conduct a new round of investigations on different issues surrounding the
Philippine Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth).
“In the past, PhilHealth was hounded by
several issues, yung upcasing, yung connivance. Nauubos yung pera. Yung mga
OFWs and employees, about the premium, dapat alam nila na maayos yugn agency,”
he said.
“You have to admit that we need to reform and
clean the agency kasi we have to make sure that the funds will go to those who
really need it [...] we have to admit that there is a problem,” he added.
“We expect the cooperation of PhilHealth. We
will probably ask the chairman of the Committee on Health for another hearing
tungkol doon sa reform that you need. Kailangan ay magtulungan po tayo.
