METRO MANILA SUBWAY: A MODERN UNDERGROUND RAILWAY IN PROGRESS

Today we joined President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. and Ambassador Endo Kazuya in Taguig City for the groundbreaking of the Metro Manila Subway Project’s two (2) underground stations: the Kalayaan Avenue Station and the BGC Station.
The Kalayaan Avenue Station will be located beneath 11th Avenue and Uptown Open Parking, and the BGC Station will be located along McKinley Parkway in between Serendra and Market! Market!
The Metro Manila Subway Project is only possible through Foreign-Assisted Projects (FAPs) supported by the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) under a loan agreement.
During the Senate’s deliberations on the 2026 budgets, we made sure that there will be no further delays in the release of funds and implementation of FAPs of the Department of Transportation (DOTr), particularly the Metro Manila Subway and the North–South Commuter Railway (NSCR ).
Umaasa tayo na magiging prayoridad ang paglabas ng pondo para tuloy-tuloy at on time ang implementasyon ng mga ito.
