METRO MANILA SUBWAY PROJECT

The dream of having a Metro Manila Subway System is slowly becoming a reality.
I would like to thank President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. and his administration for finally hitting the ground running for the Metro Manila Subway.
With the launching of the subway's tunnel boring machine, which will be used for excavating along the project's route from Valenzuela to the Ninoy Aquino International Airport, we are now one step closer in making the country's first ever subway system a reality.
As vice chair of the Senate Committee on Public Services, I will always take pride in the fact that we fought hard for the restoration of the project's funding back in November. Strengthening our railways system will definitely play a crucial role in our effort to recover from pandemic and its impacts on the economy. Moreover, with the poor state of our country's transportation system, railway is the only way.
Thank you as well to the Department of Transportation, Japan International Cooperation Agency, and the many local government units covered by this project.
Without your hard work, this historic project would not have been possible. Rest I assured that I will continue to work closely with all of you in building better mass transport for all Filipinos.
